This, is how you multi-task. On the very same evening, last week, Jonny Greenwood had two pieces of his authorship make live premieres: In Rainbows, front to back at 93 Feet East, and modern classical triumph Popcorn Superhet Receiver 3,470 miles west. Of course he was only in one of those places (Radiohead takes priority in these situations for some reason), but under another conductor's hand Popcorn made its American debut at the church of St. Paul The Apostle in Manhattan, as part of the Wordless Music Series. Obviously Jonny's day job has us biased, but it sounds rather gorgeous -- and maybe if someone from AMPAS was in attendance they would've been moved to bend those Oscar rules a little.
